URGENT: The city shelter is full, and we can’t save more animals until we have space. By adopting or fostering one pet with PAWS, you’re saving two lives: the one you bring home, and the next one we can rescue in their place.

Visiting Foster Walk-in Vet Clinic:

• To expedite the examinations and respect everyone’s time, please fill out the Foster Walk-in Google Form BEFORE arriving to PAWS! The form can be found in the link below and here.
• The form can be filled out on a computer or on a phone. If you don’t have access to either, please ask to borrow a tablet when you arrive.
• Please complete one form entry per animal.
• When you arrive, please alert our front desk to be added to the waitlist.
• Your name will be added to the list in the order that you arrive (not in the order the form was submitted).
• Please inform us if you think your foster animal is having a true medical emergency.
• You may be asked to wait outside the building if our waiting room is full; there may be a wait as fosters are seen first come, first served, plus triaging urgent cases. We appreciate your patience!

Reminders:

• “When in doubt, BRING POOP!” If you’re seeing vomiting/diarrhea/stool issues from your foster at home, please bring a sample that is less than 24 hours old and stored in the fridge before arrival. Label it clearly with the pet’s name and A#. Do not store samples in the freezer.
• Please ONLY come to our Foster Walk-in Vet Clinic hours if your pet is sick, injured, or is due for recheck, unless otherwise instructed by the foster/medical teams. While we work hard to see every patient who visits, the nature of walk-in hours means you may be turned away and asked to come back another day if there is an emergency or too many animals showed up that day.
• If you aren’t sure if your foster pet needs to see the doctor, and has a minor issue like occasional sneezing, please email foster@phillypaws.org with more details & photos so we can ask the medical team for advice.
If you have a foster pet with Ringworm or Panleuk, they can only be seen during the last 30 minutes of FWI hours to reduce contagion to other pets. For these, please arrive at 10:15am Mon-Fri; or 11:15am Sat/Sun, or even a few minutes before – if you arrive much later we won’t have time to see you since the hours end at 11am sharp Mon-Fri; and 12pm Sat/Sun!
