Hand2Paw
Through Hand2Paw, young adults at Covenant House, a home for youth who are homeless or who have aged out of the foster care system, visit PAWS regularly to train and bathe dogs, provide comfort and socialization to cats, care for kittens, and more.
By volunteering in our shelters, they provide valuable assistance while gaining new skills and experiences. Some have progressed into completing formal internships with us to learn about and prepare for career positions in animal care such as veterinary technicians and kennel attendants.
According to Covenant House staff, “Not only do the residents grow by giving back and volunteering, but there exists a real opportunity to grow and learn valuable skills through the internship at PAWS.”
