His owner was concerned after she noticed hair loss and an odor coming from his ears. Our vet examined him and took ear swabs, and concluded that he was suffering from a flea allergy and an ear infection. The doctor called his owner – who was waiting in her car – to discuss her treatment recommendations, then Charlie was given a shot of antibiotics and our tech brought him back outside for a happy reunion.

Fang has been a PAWS clinic client since 2017, so we know this sensitive 10-year old well. He has a history of severe allergies. His owner Mike, who lives in our neighborhood, depends on us for affordable medication, testing, and prescription food to keep his beloved companion feeling his best.

She spoke to Charlie’s owner by phone, encouraging her to monitor her for worsening symptoms, and bring her back for more testing if she wasn’t feeling better soon.
