In case you missed it: after 242 days in PAWS’ care, special needs girl Shae has finally found the love she was searching for! This one-of-a-kind cat touched the hearts of everyone she met during her stay with us, along with hundreds of online fans who were cheering her on. Shae faced an uphill adoption battle due to an incurable medical condition that caused her bladder to leak — a big ask for even the most dedicated pet parent. But if there’s anything we’ve learned, it’s that there’s an adopter out there for everyone — and that when our community comes together, anything is possible!

Shae’s unique story and loving spirit inspired an outpouring of online support and social media shares, and finally reached adopters Danielle and Stefan all the way in Maryland. As experienced cat parents with work from home schedules and lots of love to give, they were ready to take on the challenges of Shae’s care — and to spend every day spoiling her like she deserved. Stefan made the drive to our shelter in person while Danielle joined virtually due to an injury, and to absolutely no one’s surprise, Shae worked her magic and made an instant love connection!

Now happily settled into her new life, this special girl is already filling her home with joy, warmth, and endless love. “We are thrilled to welcome her to our family. She is settling in so well and is getting tons of cuddles and attention! We couldn’t be happier with Shae and she truly deserves all the praises and compliments…such a gentle sweetheart with so much love to give. We can’t believe how lucky we are to have her join our kitty crew.”
