Just as every pet has their own quirks and charms, every bond we share with them is uniquely ours. That’s why PAWS is proud to announce the return of its Perfectly Impurrfect adoption promotion, kicking off on Friday, October 24 and running through Sunday, November 9. With shelter intake alarmingly high, loving adoptive homes create space for other animals whose lives depend on it. During Perfectly Impurrfect, adopters can name their own adoption fee for included cats and dogs. When they take their new pet home, PAWS will be able to rescue another animal in its place.

PAWS saves thousands of exceptional animals each year who would otherwise face homelessness and risk euthanasia. Due to their individual needs, many of these animals face longer shelter stays. They may have a simple daily medication routine, a manageable age-related condition, preference for being the only pet, or socialization needs. Perfectly Impurrfect celebrates these special cats and dogs, aims to match them with the right adopters, and creates space for more animals who are waiting for the same chance.

As part of this promotion, PAWS invites the public to meet adoptable dogs and cats at three in-person adoption events:

• Saturday, October 25, 12-2pm: PetSmart (1415 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19146)
• Sunday, November 2, 11am-5pm and Sunday, November 9, 11am-5pm: PAWS’ Old City Adoption Center (100 N. St. Philadelphia, PA 19106)

The need is extremely urgent, so PAWS is asking animal lovers throughout the region to consider expanding their family by adopting now. Wonderful cats like Applesauce (pictured above) are waiting. This 14-year-old senior is full of love and playfulness, and her skin allergies are managed with medication. Applesauce is curious, confident, and the perfect mix of sweet and spicy — and she absolutely loves spending time with people.

“Sometimes the pets who need us most are the ones people overlook,” says Tammy Miller, PAWS’ senior foster and adoption manager. “When you open your heart to a pet with unique needs or preferences, you realize how extraordinary ‘imperfect’ can be.”
