Modern Eye is a unique full-service optical shop and optometrist’s office with two locations in Philadelphia: in Center City at 145 South 13th Street, at the northeast corner of 13th and Walnut Streets – and in University City on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania at 3419 Walnut Street in the Shops at Penn. Doctor owned and operated by Chris Anastasiou, optometrist, full professional eye care is available at both locations by Dr. Anastasiou and his associate, Dr. Bryan Machamer. Services include complete eye examinations including refraction, vision analysis, ocular health, dilation of the pupil, and glaucoma testing, as well as contact lens fittings and laser surgery screenings and co-management. Most contact lenses are available. State-of-the-art eyeglass labs run by full-time certified opticians are on site in both stores.
