World Spay Day: FREE TNR Clinic for outdoor cats

In honor of World Spay Day, PAWS is hosting a free TNR spay/neuter clinic for outdoor community cats on Wednesday, February 25 at our Grays Ferry and Grant Avenue wellness clinics. This event is for community cats only (not owned pets). Appointments are required, cats must arrive in traps, and space is limited. Reserve your spot today to help keep outdoor community cats healthy and prevent future litters.

We rescue animals, primarily from the city shelter, almost daily with a focus on the most vulnerable: adult dogs, kittens, cats recovering from illnesses, and small animals. Once safe at PAWS, they receive everything they need to become ready for adoption, then are matched with loving homes.

PAWS’ dedicated and caring volunteers are essential in every aspect of our lifesaving efforts.

Our low-cost Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinics prevent pet homelessness and provide a needed resource in our community, enabling loving pet owners to care for and keep their dogs and cats as family.

166,081 spay/neuters performed

PAWS provides low-cost spay/neuter surgery for owned pets, rescues and community cats to prevent the birth of unwanted litters. Our efforts are working: since our clinics opened their doors, the number of homeless animals entering Philadelphia’s city shelter has declined year over year.

Does your dog need a dog? Johnny Cash would love to join your crew! This sensitive boy is an introvert by nature, but as foster mom Maddie can attest, he absolutely blossoms with a canine pal to goof off with. Maddie and her partner have spent months patiently helping Johnny build confidence and feel safe in the world, but having a friendly and playful companion completely changed the game. In this video, Maddie shares what it’s been like watching Johnny with her parents’ pup Lily. From wagging his tail for the very first time, to learning how to fetch, to confidently playing, cuddling, and enjoying himself in ways we hadn’t seen before, Johnny finally started to let loose and “really learned how to be a dog.” Now, Maddie finds any opportunity she can to get Johnny out of the city so he can spend time with Lily – but what he’d love more than anything is to find a home where he can enjoy that life full-time!
