Gordo is a 2-4 years old, male pit bull mix who was surrendered to the shelter because his owners were moving. He spent almost a month in Philadelphia’s animal control facility before coming to PAWS. He was found to have leg problems and received surgery thanks to Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center, followed by a long recovery involving weeks of crate rest where he wasn’t allowed to run or play. He made a full recovery, was adopted, and now lives happily in Royersford. In total, he spent 138 days in the shelter.
From his new Mom, Jennifer: “We are just SO thrilled with how everything worked out with Gordo. He enjoys tons of walks and getting time at the barn meeting with his “cousin” horse. He is a COMPLETE gentleman at the dog parks and always gets such nice compliments from everyone. We just love him so very much. He has a bit of anxiety with thunderstorms and we are working on that. He gets better and better each day and really aims to please. Such a nice, caring dog he is. We can’t thank you enough and I cannot express how wonderful the adoption process was.
