ASPCA Awards Grant to Assist Low-Income Pet Owners

ASPCA2/8/15: PAWS is pleased to announce that we have received a grant of $3,000 from the ASPCA to provide subsidized veterinary care at PAWS’ Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinics to the pets and pet owners who need it most.

The grant will replenish the Paws & Claws Fund for Low-Income Pet Owners, which will enable struggling pet owners to obtain free and reduced-cost spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and treatment for basic illnesses for their cats and dogs. In doing so, it prevents the birth of unwanted litters, slows the flow of animals into city shelters, and enables pets to remain as cherished family members rather than be abandoned due to their owners’ inability to afford care for them.
