Back by Popular Demand: Name Your Own Adoption Fees in October
In an effort to find loving homes for more pets than ever before, PAWS is offering
Name-Your-Own-Fee adoptions for the month of October 2011. Come by
PAWS’ Adoption Center at 2nd and Arch Streets to meet your new best friend!
Interested in adopting? Get a head start before you arrive:
2. If you rent, bring proof that pets are allowed in your home.
3. Bring veterinary records for your current or previous pets.
4. Stop by and meet your match!
Adoptions will take place at 2nd and Arch:
- Monday-Friday: 12-7 p.m. - Saturday: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. - Sunday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
You can also go to PAWS’ offsite cat adoption locations (M-F 6-8 p.m., Sat/Sun 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.):
- PETCO, Grant Avenue & Roosevelt Boulevard
- PETCO, 3300 Aramingo Avenue
- PetSmart, Cottman Avenue/7422 Bustleton Avenue

PAWS is one of 50 shelters across the country competing in the
ASPCA $100K Challenge, a nationwide competition among shelters to save more lives. Our goal is to adopt out at least 700 animals between August and October - that’s 300 more than last year! So far, we’re about halfway to our goal.

About Name-Your-Own-Fee adoptions: Research shows that reduced and waived adoption fees, when paired with adequate screening, increase lifesaving without decreasing quality of adoptions. At a time when thousands of dogs and cats are entering Philadelphia’s shelters and there are not enough homes for all of them, we’re committed to taking new steps to match as many animals as possible with loving homes.
