Make your Mark at PAWS!

By participating in PAWS’ Tile Wall Project, you can honor or memorialize a pet, celebrate an animal lover, or offer a personal message for the tens of thousands of homeless animals who depend on us each year.The possibilities are endless, and the results will be bright, cheerful walls in both our main shelter and our downtown adoption center. Most importantly, the PAWS Tile Wall Project will raise badly needed funds for our lifesaving efforts on behalf of Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. Together, we can make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home.

Tiles are easy and fun to create you submit your design on a piece of plain paper (see instructions) and will be installed in phases at both locations. They cost only $50 each.

Some suggested tile themes/ideas:

• Digital photo of pet (with name and year adopted/born)
• Photo of child/family with pet and message: "From the ____ Family"
• Original drawing/artwork with message about adopting a pet/saving lives
• "Donated by the ____ Family" with date
• "In honor of Jane Doe, dedicated PAWS volunteer/animal lover” with drawing or photo
• A paw print of family pet/PAWS rescue animal and name/age/date of adoption
• "In Memory Of" (list pet’s name and years born/died)
• “Happy birthday to _____” . . . or celebrate another occasion by supporting PAWS in honor of a loved one.
  …or use your imagination!

Tile Art Instructions:
Use a piece of 8” x 8” paper, white or colored. (Please note: this is NOT a standard paper size. Pre-cut sheets of white paper are available at either of our locations, or you may use your own. Just be sure to measure and trim accordingly.)

Do:

• Be creative and be sure to submit original characters and designs.
• Use bright and bold colors, as they reproduce the best. Paints, markers, crayons, oil pastels and paper collages are encouraged (make sure that all pieces are glued firmly in place).
• Fill the space of the paper with detail and color. Keep any names or important details at least ½” from the edges of the paper.
• If you wish, please sign the front of your masterpiece! Signatures should be at least ½” away from the paper’s edge.
• Feel free to use personal photos as long as they fit within the 8” x 8” size.

Don’t:

• Use glitter; metallic paint, paper, stickers, pens, etc.; 3-D objects (such as wiggly eyes, pipe cleaners, cotton balls, pom-poms, etc.); fluorescent colors; abrasive materials (such as sandpaper, sand, hardened glue, etc.); or hole punches.
• Use trademarked subjects or logos such as Barbie, Snoopy, Sponge Bob, Nike, Coke, etc.
• Submit studio photographs (eg. Sears, Olan Mills). They are copyrighted and may not be reproduced.

1. Print a receipt of your online payment, and enclose it with your tile art which you should create using the instructions above.
   
   
2. Submit one of two ways:

• In person:
  - At our downtown adoption center (corner of 2nd & Arch Streets). Mon-Sat: 11am to 7pm; Sunday: 11am to 6pm.
  
  - Or, at our main shelter (111 W. Hunting Park Avenue). Seven days a week; 8:30am to 4:30pm.
  
  
• By mail: (Using a large, flat envelope ONLY. Do not fold art.)
